Serhat TUNAR -TDO- China's Ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming said the Western media reports of the persecution of the Muslim Uighur minority in the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region were completely untrue.
The New York Times recently published a 403-page directory of documents claiming to contain the Chinese government's policies to be implemented in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and its instructions to security units.
Xiaoming, who has served as ambassador to London since 2010, said in a statement that no such document existed, and claimed that the New York Times ' report was a lie.
The documents published by The New York Times included remarks made by Chinese President Xi Jinping to members of the Communist Party. In the statement, Xi Jinping allegedly ordered security units stationed in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to show no mercy under any circumstances.
