İlknur Şebnem Öztemel TDO-Bana al-Abed, a 7-year-old Syrian girl who became the face of the civilian plight in eastern Aleppo through social media, has finally been evacuated. Bana and her mother, Fatemadh, arrived in Al Rashideen where is under the rule of opposition forces, yesterday. After their evacuation, she simply wrote on Twitter as “I escaped from East #Aleppo.”
Her mother Fatemadh Al-Abed said “We stayed almost 24 hours in the bus, without food, without water and anything,”
Bana became famous with her emotional posts regardingher observations and interpretations in the battlefield with the help of her mother who is an English teacher. Some people referred her as the Anne Frank of Syrian War. In late November, Fatemadh posted that the family’s home had been destroyed in an airstrike.
