Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock said in Parliament that cases in Leicester accounted for 10 per cent of cases seen in recent weeks across the country.

After Tuesday Thursday, non-mandatory retail stores and schools will be closed next week, said Matt Hancaca, who said they had made important decisions after meeting with local officials.

Minister Hancock also said some measures to be lifted across the UK on July 4 would continue to be implemented in Leicester.
