Selin ATAY-TDO- The Presidents of Russia, Poland and Brazil congratulated Joe Biden, who was elected the 46th president of the United States.
Following the United States presidential election held on November 3, Joe Biden's presidency was officially endorsed by the Electoral College. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had earlier said he was waiting for the official process, congratulated Joe Biden. A telegram was sent to Biden by Putin over his victory in the election, the Kremlin Palace said. Putin said in a telegram that he wished Biden success and was ready for dialogue. "Putin stressed that Russia and the United States, which have special responsibility for global security and stability, can contribute to solving many of the problems facing the world, despite disagreements," the statement said.
Polish President Andrzej Sebastian Duda, who has good relations with current President Donald Trump, also congratulated Biden after the official confirmation of the Electoral College.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has acknowledged the defeat of his "close friend" Donald Trump and congratulated Joe Biden. The far-right populist leader expressed his readiness to work with Joe Biden's government in a post on his Twitter account about a month and a half after the presidential election. "I congratulate President Joe Biden with my best wishes and hope that the United States will continue to be 'the land of the free and the home of the brave,'" Bolsonaro said in a statement. Bolsonaro was thus included in the list of heads of state, the last to congratulate Biden when the Electoral College officially confirmed him as president, following Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
