Hassam Hameed-TDO-23.01.2018- Health ministry said, 22 people were killed in a siege by gunmen in Afghan Intercontinental hotel. Attackers went from room to room searching for foreigners said a security source. Taliban has claimed responsibility of the attack.
There were six attackers, all of them are said to be killed by Afghan forces. Fourteen foreigners were killed in this attack, nine of them were Ukrainians, one German, one Greek, one Kazakh and two Venezuelans.
Death toll could be higher, as its common to understate it in high notoriety attack. As in local media higher figures were disseminating.
Investigation is still going to find out how attackers breached security that was set in place. But as investigation is underway it is not certain whether inside help was provided.
