Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- In Italy, during the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination efforts carried out on the island of Sicily, a mayor who queue-jumped by standing in front of him whose waiting to be vaccinated, resigned amid the backlash.
"Despite this, I was sleep deprived at night of thinking about this decision and decided it was best for me to resign," Corleone Mayor Nicole Nicolosi said.
Nicolosi argued that those in the local government, like medics, are at the forefront of the pandemic.
It was shared with the public on the social media accounts of the municipality, where Nicolosi had taken both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Nicola Morra, a senator from the Five Star Movement, said Nicolosi was not the only politician to abuse his authority and called on other politicians to resign.
