News Centre – TDO- An introduction meeting was held at the Ankara HiltonSA Hotel, hosted by the Italian Embassy to publicise the 3rd World Italian Cuisine Week.

The event was attending by Cultural Attaché at the Italian Embassy Margherita Giannessi, Michelin-starred chef Christoph Bob, Italian Embassy Director of Office for the Economy and Trade Luigi Gentile, Dr Ayşegül Değirmencioğlu of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office Geographical Indications Unit, Ankara HiltonSA General Manager Marc Schumacher, Ankara HiltonSA Food and Beverages Operations Director Cenan Balcı as well as many members of the press.

To mark the World Italian Cuisine Week, the Italian Embassy in Ankara, Italian Consulate-General in Istanbul, the Italian Cultural Centre in Istanbul and the Italian Consulate in Izmir have prepared a rich set of activities to promote Italy's tradition of enogastronomy and its unique produce and dishes.

The year 2018 is also being celebrated as the Year of National Italian Dishes. The third Italian Cuisine Week is therefore devoted to regional Italian food, the protection of produce with geographical indicators, the promotion of high-quality food and wine and the Mediterranean diet, which is not only beneficial to human health but is also a dietary model that is sustainable both economically and environmentally.  

Ankara HiltonSA will hosted the Tastes of Italy events with Michelin-starred chef Christoph Bob between November 20th and 24th. As part of the World Italian Cuisine Week to take place between November 19th-25th this year, the Italian Embassy and Ankara HiltonSA will hold three events in cooperation.

From November 20th to 23rd, chef Christoph Bob will prepare gourmet Italian dishes for dinner. On November 24th a Cooking Workshop will be held in which chef Christoph Bob will teach participants how to cook a classically Italian menu. On the evening of November 24th, special homemade pasta from Italy will be offered to guests at dinner.
