News Center -TDO- Ankara's Ambassador to Italy Massimo Gaiani visited the new event center and library of the Casa Italia Cultural Center. Ambassador Gainai, who spoke at the informal gathering attended by Ambassador and Italian Friendship Association officials and Casa Italia officials, at the Event Center, whose opening ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic; He expressed his satisfaction that despite the pandemic conditions, a new conference hall has been added to Ankara and that Ankara's only Italian library has gained a new venue. In addition to the library located at 95 Kuzgun Sokak, it has been designed in such a way that hybrid conferences can be held in accordance with the pandemic conditions. Thus, the participants will have the opportunity to listen to guests from other countries, especially Italy, both online and live.
Casa Italia, which was brought to life in Ankara by the Italian Friendship Association as the cultural center of Italy, has been organizing many events such as movie screenings, conferences, open lectures, book and speaking clubs for 4 years. Casa Italia will now breathe new life into its services for Italians in Ankara and anyone interested in Italian language and culture, with its Italian library and event/conference hall.
In addition to Ambassador Gaiani, President of the Italian Friendship Association Atty. Musa Toprak, Prof. Dr. Nevin Özkan Head of Department of Italian Literature at AU DTCF was also present at the event. Italy Friendship Association President Toprak stated that; “they could not invite guests due to the pandemic, they preferred to organize a series of events with a small number of participants instead of a big opening event, and announced that the first event will be for the promotion of the book titled Italian Literature and Writers from Past to Present, which will be published soon.” Ambassador Gaiani, together with President of the Italian Friendship Association, cut a cake to celebrate the new event year and the new event centre. The Ambassador stated that they will continue to support this center to become the center of Italian culture in Ankara in the coming period.
