Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu headed to Russia on June 7th, 2016 in order to celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations and to extend military cooperation in Syria with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Netanyahu held his fourth bilateral meeting with Putin in nine months while he has met Barack Obama, President of the USA only twice. Netanyahu’s visits to Russia sparked discussions over whether Israel wants to replace the USA as its closest ally or not.
