Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Israel is hosting 45 important guests, including heads of state, royalty and heads of State, who have come to Jerusalem to commemorate the Holocaust and raise awareness about the rising anti-Semitism around the world.
The presidents of France, Ukraine, Georgia and Russia, the Kings of Spain and Belgium, Prince Charles on behalf of the United Kingdom, Vice President Mike Pence of the United States, and Nancy Pelosi, spokeswoman for the United States House of Representatives, are among those based in Jerusalem.
Ahead of the fifth World Holocaust Forum, which will be held on Thursday (today), on Wednesday (yesterday) the guests were given a state dinner organised by the Yad Vashem Memorial Centre in Jerusalem's Western Hills and held at the official mansion of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
Adopting the message “Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Antisemitism” the forum is being held just ahead of the release of Auschwitz prisoners and International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which will be their 75th anniversary on Monday.
Much of Israel and Jerusalem will be closed on Thursday (today), including the intermittent closure of the country's main east-west highway so that dozens of official convoys can reach the cosy forum. The area where the forum will be leveled has been declared a no-fly zone for drones and other flying objects.
