Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The German government has responded to a motion by the left-wing Parliamentary Group on Islamophobic crimes committed in Germany. According to the government's response, 187 Islamophobic crimes were committed in Germany in the third quarter of 2019. In this context, 8 people were injured and a total of 8 were detained, 6 of them in the state of Hesse.
Of the 187 recorded attacks, 25 were attacks on mosques or places of worship. The German government says these numbers are not certain, and that figure could increase further with crimes to be added later.
In addition, the German government reported that in the second quarter of 2019, anti-Islam crimes, previously announced as 165, went on record as 222, with later additions.
In the first three months of 2019, it was announced that 132 anti-Islam crimes had been committed, but that number was 188 with later additions.
