Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The New York Times claimed that Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, a number two of the Al Qaeda group wanted by the United States for plotting a terrorist attack, was killed in Iran three months ago.
Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah was shot dead by two Israeli agents on motorcycles in Tehran on August 7, The New York Times reported. The agents allegedly carried out the assassination on behalf of the United States.
Iranian officials have not confirmed Abdullah's death, who has been in the country since 2003, and the New York Times denied the news. In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: 'Washington and Tel Aviv are trying to decry Iran with this organization by occasionally leaking such false information to the media."
