Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- A senior Iranian official said in a statement that they would withdraw from the ongoing process of exchanging detainees with the United States due to "ongoing violations by the Washington administration."
The senior official, who has not been named, told "Nournews" of Iran's Supreme Council of National Security that ongoing talks with the United States on prisoner exchanges are underway.
Tehran is working with the Washington administration to exchange prisoners on humanitarian grounds, but the U.S. position has hampered the process, the official said.
"Due to the ongoing violations and outrageous attitude of the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden, Iran's motivation to continue this process has disappeared. Therefore, the issue of prisoner swaps will be completely removed from Iran's agenda," he said.
