Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Russian President Vladimir Putin told him, "if you weren't prime minister, Israel and Russia could have gone to war."
In his remarks, Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke of his close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Israeli Prime Minister explained that Putin had told him that Russia and Israel could have a military conflict if it were not for the friendship between them.
In an interview, Netanyahu also repeated his promise to grant the United States Israeli sovereignty in the Jordan Valley and illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and lawmaker Gideon Saar will compete for Likud's presidential election today. Netanyahu is expected to retain the party's presidential seat.
