Görkem ŞEKEROĞLU -TDO- A series of explosions have rocked Equatorial Guinea's commercial hub, Bata.
The State tv has reported that there have been losses of life and significant damage, and health workers have been asked to report to the city's hospitals.
The cause of the explosions is currently unclear.
Certain reports claim that they came from an area near the military base.
Video posted on social media after the explosions show chaotic scenes of people fleeing from the area where smoke can still be seen billowing.
The Spanish embassy has requested its citizens to remain at home and issued a series of emergency numbers. Equatorial Guinea was a Spanish colony until independence in 1968.
