News Center-TDO- Honorary Consul General of Iceland, Dr Selim Sarıibrahimoğlu was awarded the Order of the Falcon by the President of Iceland, Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson.
Consul General Sarıibrahimoğlu received the Order of the Falcon, Iceland's only knighthood, at the Reykjavik Presidential Residence.
The Order of the Falcon is awarded for merit for Iceland and humanity, and it has five degrees. It is the only knighthood in Iceland and founded by King Christian X of Denmark and Iceland on July 3, 1921.
The ceremony was attended by Yavuz Subaşı, Member of Parliament for Balıkesir province and Chairman of the Iceland-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Gunnar Tryggvason, Turkey's Honorary Consul General to Iceland.
Serving as the Honorary Consul General of Iceland since 2009, Dr Selim Sarıibrahimoğlu held talks with President Jóhannesson on how we can develop friendship and commercial relations between Iceland and Turkey after the award ceremony.
