News Center -TDO- On April 8, 2021, a hijab fashion show was held at the embassy residence of Indonesia for promotion, hosted by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey, Mr. Lalu Muhamad lqbal.
The event was attended by a limited number of guests due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Indonesian brands participating in the fashion show include: Elzatta (pioneer of hijab fashion brand with hundreds of stores), VVearing Klamby (One of the highest follower brands with 1.6 million followers), Javvhara Syari (leading brand focusing on syari style-full closed style), Tethuna (A brand focused on Karavvo trading, supported by Bank Indonesia Gorontalo), Medina Zein (urban Hijab brand led by renowned entrepreneur Medina Zein) and two rising brands Restu Prativvi (focusing on office wear) and Hwan Eco Ethnic (ethnic-designed scarf brand).
Besides the fashion shows, there was also the Angklung (Indonesian musical instrument) performed by the Indonesian women's Association (Dharma vvanita Persatuan KBRI Ankara) in Ankara and also the presentation of the beginning of Indonesian fashion by #Markamarie.
Brands have created their private collections to be exhibited at the event. "Through this fashion diplomacy, we aim to connect the hearts of two Muslim nations, Indonesia and Turkey, closer than ever," said Mr. Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Turkey, sharing the reason for the event.
Ambassador Iqbal said that the president's wife, Mrs. Emine Erdogan, also attended the event on April 7, 2021.
Franka Soeria, co-founder of #markamarie, said fashion can only survive when brands support each other with various activations.
