Serhat TUNAR -TDO- In Egypt, seven members of the Muslim Brotherhood, including Hasan Malik, were sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of terrorism and harm to the national economy.
One of the three women who were tried in the case of the Cairo State Security Criminal Court was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. Under Egyptian law, the decision of the State Security Courts cannot be appealed.
Malik, one of the country's most important businessmen, was detained in October 2015 at his home in Cairo, charged with membership in a terrorist organization and providing assistance to a terrorist organization.
The life imprisonment given to Malik came after the United States announced that it would accept the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.
