Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Germany has started preparing to help India, whose daily number of cases in the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has been at its highest level worldwide for the last 4 days.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel says the German government is preparing emergency aid for India.
In a statement issued by the German government on April 25th, Chancellor Merkel said, "I feel the terrible suffering of the People of India due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our fight against the epidemic is common. Germany is in solidarity with India and is working to send urgent support," the statement said.
On April 24, the number of Covid-19 casualties in India increased to a record 2,624.
Existing hospitals across the country are running short of empty beds, oxygen tanks, and medicines, with warnings that the health system is at the point of collapse.
The German government has not yet given details on aid to India.
