Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth Franziska Giffey announced her resignation due to plagiarism accusations against her.
"In recent days, there has been a renewed discussion about my (Doctorate) thesis in 2010. The government, my party, and the people have a right to see the matter clarified. I have decided to ask the Chancellor to remove me from his ministerial post," she said.
"I stuck to what I said, I did my thesis work to the best of my abilities and conscience. If I made mistakes, I regret it," she said.
Free University of Berlin recently conducted a third study of Minister Giffey's doctorate dissertation on the "European Union" and requested an explanation of the accusations from Giffey.
