Selin ATAY - DG- Chief of staff Eberhard Zorn and Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer presented the prepared 8-page report on the state of the army to the relevant commissions in the Bundestag. The security situation, as well as the rapid economic and technological change, was highlighted in the report that the German army was "not adequately funded", "not adequately prepared" and "unilaterally organized for missions outside the country".

"The German army is not sufficiently prepared today for tomorrow's challenges and threats, "the report said, adding that Germany should be prepared for future threats. The presentation also expressed demands for the adoption of the "Army planning law" and the reorganization of the army's procurement regulations in order to consolidate the financial situation contained in the report.

The report on the current state of the army also said that projects related to air defense, Eurodrone and transport helicopters will be accelerated, and 20 billion euros will be funded in this context. In May, the report on the army's future plans will be presented by Chief of staff Eberhard Zorn and Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.

Describing Russia and China as strategic rivals to Germany, the report said Russia has described itself as a "power against the West," recently raising military and political threats and knowingly violating international conventions. The report described China as a mature actor who has become powerful and increasingly visible.
