GENERAL ELECTIONS POSTPONED IN KYRGYZSTAN

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- General elections in Kyrgyzstan, held on October 4 but cancelled after protests that resulted in the resignation of the president, were announced to be held on January 10, 2021.

However, Kyrgyzstan's prosecutor general's office said it had also launched a probe into alleged negligence related to the October 4th general election, which sparked mass protests.

Kyrgyzstan's Interior Ministry Press Center said in a statement that investigative services teams associated with the ministry conducted a review at the Central Election Commission's headquarters and confiscated some documents.
