Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Mahmoud Jibril, who was treated in hospital after the positive of the coronavirus (Covid-19) test in Cairo, died despite the interventions.
Jibril, 68, died on Sunday in Cairo where he had been hospitalised for two weeks, said Khaled al-Mrimi, secretary of the National Forces Alliance, founded by Jibril in 2012.
Born in Benghazi, Libya in 1952, Jibril served as Prime Minister of the National Transition Council, which was formed in 2011 against the regime of Libya's ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The National Center for The Fight Against Diseases said in a statement that the first death in the country due to coronavirus was an 85-year-old female patient.
The number of cases approved in the outbreak of coronavirus (Kovid-19) in Libya is 18.
