Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Bakoyannis, Greece's former Foreign Minister, said on his social media account that he considered the possibilities Greece could face if it fought Turkey.
Dora Bakoyannis, a New Democracy Party lawmaker in Greece, former Athens Mayor and former foreign minister, claimed her country would be left alone if it fought Turkey. Bakoyannis made the following statement on his social media account::
"If we fight Turkey, we will be alone. No one would sacrifice themselves for us. But we are not alone diplomatically. That's all that matters."
Bakoyannis added that the most problematic period in Turkish-Greek relations was following the Kardak (Imia) cliffs crisis in January 1996.
Greece sees a different Turkey than is known, Bakoyannis said, adding that there is an obligation to agree on a common process with Turkey. Noting that the meeting between Greek Prime Minister Micotakis and President Erdogan was held during the crisis between the two countries, Bakoyannis stressed that the channels of discussion and communication should be kept open, especially in the event of a crisis.
