Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Hundreds of birds have died in Rome due to fireworks used to celebrate the new year. In Rome, the arrival of the New Year was marked by fireworks. Hundreds of birds died at the celebrations in question. Images on social media showed the lifeless bodies of birds on the streets of Rome.

Loredana Diglio, a spokeswoman for the International Organization for the protection of animals (OIPA), said there could be more than one cause of bird deaths. "They may have died of fear due to the noise caused by the fireworks," Diglio said, noting that fireworks cause injuries and stress to domestic and wild animals every year. They could have hit each other, Windows or power lines while flying together. And let's not forget that they may have died of a heart attack."
