EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS REJECTS A CORONAVIRUS APPLICATION FROM FRANCE

05/12/2020

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The European Court of human rights has said it has rejected an application for a complaint from France on the grounds that the government has not taken effective measures to combat coronavirus.

The European Court of human rights declared that the application was unacceptable because it could not show evidence that a French citizen named Renaud Le Mailloux, born in 1974, was directly affected by the elements he complained about.

The applicant, who lives in Marseille, first sued the French courts on the grounds that the government could not supply citizens and medical personnel with 'FFP2' and 'FFP3' type face masks and surgical masks to patients and could not carry out mass coronavirus tests, exhausted domestic legal avenues, and then filed a complaint with the Strasbourg court.
