Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The European Parliament approved the proposed law on the termination of summer and winter time applications in EU member states.
The European Parliament's General Assembly, met in Strasbourg, voted on the amendment of the long-term implementation of summer and winter-time applications in EU member states.
Members of Parliament adopted the proposed law, which envisions the termination of summer and winter time applications, by 410 votes against 192.
According to the proposed law to be adopted, EU member states will make a choice between summer or winter time until April 2020, and from 2021 onwards, termination of summer and winter time applications will be begun.
In the current system, the hour of the last Sunday of March each year was taken one hour forward, and on the last Sunday of October it was taken back an hour.
