Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The European Centre for Disease Prevention and control (ECDC), a European Union agency, has raised the risk of a new type of Coronavirus outbreak emerging in China from low to medium to reach European Union countries.
Stefan De Keersmaecker, a spokesman for the European Commission, told a daily press briefing that the ECDC held a meeting yesterday because of the risk that a Coronavirus outbreak could reach European Union countries.
The ECDC raises the risk of the outbreak reaching European Union countries from low to medium levels, Keersmaecker said, adding that the virus can be transmitted from person to person and therefore measures need to be increased.
Keersmaecker, France and Italy from the virus spread to the city of Vuhan reminded that there were flights, the European Union Commission in this context, French and Italian officials said.
He added that the commission was working on all measures that could be taken.
