EU HEALTH BODY WARNS AGAINST VISITING POPULAR GREEK ISLANDS OVER COVID-19

Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) listed Greece's islands in the south of the Aegean as "dark red" on the Covid-19 map due to increasing cases of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19).

The ECDC, which is part of the European Union (EU), warned of a significant increase in the number of cases on 13 islands, including the tourist islands of Rhodes, Santorini, and Mykonos.

Greek Deputy Minister of Crisis Management and Civil Protection Nikos Mustardias said the islands of Mykonos and Ios are "one step" closer to taking new measures in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Other islands, such as Mustardias, Rhodes, and Santorini, also expressed concern.
