Serhat TUNAR -TDO- European Union foreign ministers, condemning Turkey's military action in northeastern Syria, will meet in Luxembourg today (Monday) to discuss possible sanctions against Turkey.
The meeting will begin with a speech by Federica Mogherini, the Union's High Representative on foreign relations. Geir Pedersen, the United Nations Special Representative for Syria, will also be present at the meeting to provide information on developments.
In preparation for the critical European Union leaders ' summit in Brussels on October 17-18, European Union foreign ministers will discuss sanctions against Turkey.
The meeting will focus on developments in Syria as well as Turkey's ongoing drilling off Cyprus. Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Libya are also on the agenda. A press conference is expected to be held after the meeting.
