Serhat TUNAR -TDO- European Union Foreign Ministers Meeting in Luxembourg once again condemned Turkey's action. European ministers failed to agree that all European Union countries should impose an arms embargo on Turkey. Hungary's Foreign Minister chose to meet with officials in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, during the meeting.
A statement by the Council of the European Union after the meeting said the European Union condemned military action in the north-east of Syria that has severely shaken the stability and security of the whole region, resulting in the displacement of more civilians. The statement also claimed that the move significantly undermined the fight so far to defeat ISIL.
The European Union Foreign Affairs Council meeting also condemned Turkey's ongoing drilling off Cyprus and gave a message of solidarity with Cyprus. Measures will be taken against some people involved in the drilling. Turkey must act within the framework of international law, it said, recalling the sanctions imposed by the European Union last July.
