Serhat Tunar -TDO- "In the coming weeks, new sanctions may be taken against Russia," said Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for European Union Foreign and Security Policies at a press conference heldbefore the European Union Foreign Affairs Council.
Mogherini said the meeting would assess the latest developments in Venezuela, Syria, Ukraine and Africa.
Federica Mogherini stated that the European Union has imposed sanctions on Russia for the last 5 years on the grounds that the Minsk Agreement has not been implemented. Mogherini told that she does not support the long-term implementation of sanctions, but Russian side should rectify some of their mistakes.
"We are ready to re-evaluate the issue if positive developments occur, but we do not see any steps from the other side," Mogherini said and added, "In the coming weeks, new sanctions against Russia can be taken."
