Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Eight people have been detained over last week's train crash in Egypt, while the death toll, previously reported at 32, has been corrected to 18.
On March 26, 200 people were injured when a train speeding in the Tahta area of Sohag in the south of the country crashed into another train.
Two train engineers, two deputies, a control tower guard, a traffic control supervisor, and two guards were detained, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The statement also changed the number of injured to 200, which the Ministry of Health announced as 185.
In addition to the 133 injured, 10 railway workers and three police officers were interviewed by investigators.
