The ongoing talks between al-Fatah and Hamas in Qatar’s capital Doha have ended. It has not yet been announced whether the two organisations looking for a settlement for the future of Palestine had come to an agreement.Among the main issues taken up by the two sides are opening up the Rafah Crossing and the founding of a joint government, as well as improving relations with important Arab countries in the region. It was announced that the Hamas delegation ,which moved to Cairo following the Doha talks, intends to bring relations with Egypt to a whole new level.Diplomatic sources have claimed that some circles within al-Fatah and Hamas are uncomfortable with Iran’s increasing influence in the region, following the end of sanctions against the country and that they seek to form a more trustable front against Israel following a deal with Ara countries.
