Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Japan has decided to close Disneyland and DisneySea, an amusement park in the capital Tokyo, for 2 weeks due to a new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
Friday February Saturday (yesterday) a statement by Entertainment Company Oriental Land said: "the decision has been made for Tokyo DisneyLand and Tokyo DisneySea to be exceptionally closed from Saturday February 29 until March 15."
The decision came after the Japanese government called for measures to be taken to avoid crowded gatherings. Many events had already been cancelled to prevent the covid-19 outbreak. But the closure of Tokyo Disneyland, which is visited by about 32 million people each year, was the most notable of these.
Numerous festivities, demonstrations and sporting events in the country have been cancelled or postponed, including all matches of the Japan Football Federation.
