DEFENCE AND MARTYRS DAY OF PAKISTAN COMMEMORATED IN ANKARA

News Center -TDO- An event was held in the embassy garden due to "September 6 Pakistan Defence Day", hosted by Pakistan's Ambassador to Ankara, Mohammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi.

The event was attended by embassy staff and invited guests.

The event began with a reading of speeches by Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on September 6, Pakistan Defence Day, and continued with the Koran recited for Pakistani martyrs.

In his speech at the commemorated after the singing of the Pakistani national anthem, Ambassador Qazi stressed the importance 6 September 1965,  Pakistan’s valiant Armed Forces and the entire nation stood united to defend Pakistan and defeat an adversary much bigger than its size.

 “Defence is a concept which is not just fighting in the field but also making sure that those who are fighting for us are provided the necessary moral and material support,” said Ambassador Qazi. He noted that with the strong support of the Pakistani nation to our valiant armed forces, there is no force on earth that can ever hurt, damage or destroy Pakistan. “We pledge ourselves to the defence of our dear homeland and will not hesitate from any sacrifice to uphold its freedom, independence and sovereignty,” he added.

A banner reading ‘Respect for the martyrs of Pakistan’ was displayed on the garden wall of the embassy, with pictures of Pakistani martyred soldiers on it.
