Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The death toll from the new type coronavirus (Covid-19) in Italy rose by 349 yesterday, to 2158 in total.
In Italy, the situation became uncontrollable in the outbreak of Covid-19, which erupted on February 21 and has been going on for over 3 weeks, and the death toll exceeded 2 thousand.
Angelo Borrelli, Italy's Director General of Civil Defence, shared the latest on the Covid-19 cases across the country at a daily news conference in the capital, Rome.
Borrelli explained that the number of cases of the current virus in Italy has increased to 23,73, while the total number of those infected with Covid-19 is 27,980 when those who died and recovered are included.
The death toll increased by 349 people compared to the previous day, Borrelli said, adding that the total number had risen to 2158.
Borrelli stressed that the number of recoveries, announced yesterday as 2,335, was higher today, adding that a further 414 people had been added to this number and that the total number had reached 2749.
