Serhat TUNAR -TDO- China is preparing to send probes and remote-controlled robots to Mars ' surface by next July.
July Sunday, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), which will lead the project, announced that China will send probes and remote-controlled robots to launch its first Mars mission.
CASC announced it would begin its Mars mission with the following statement: "Our goal was to send a probe to Mars in 2020. This major project went ahead as planned and we aim to send the probe in July."
The Chinese government, which has been known to devote high budgets to space exploration, has already sent satellites into space, begun efforts to send people to the Moon and recently launched a new spacecraft.
After the Mars journey, which is thought to take an average of 7 months, China's probe is expected to reach Mars in 2021.
