CHINA'S GREENHOUSE EMISSIONS IN 2019 EXCEEDED ALL DEVELOPED COUNTRIES COMBINED: REPORT

Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- According to a study by the Rhodium Group, China's emissions of six temperature-holding gases including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide (greenhouse gases), have surpassed the total of all OECD countries.

In China, which accounts for 27% of the world's annual greenhouse gas emissions, President Shi Jinping aims to stop the increase in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve a neutral balance by 2060.

China is followed by the United States with an 11% share in greenhouse gas emissions.

In per capita emissions, given the Chinese population, the United States still sits far ahead of China.
