Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The United Nations Support mission for Libya (UNSMIL) announced that Khalifa Hafter, the leader of the Libyan government and forces in the east of the country, had agreed to resume ceasefire talks.

UNSMIL also said the ceasefire talks and security arrangements would be carried out in accordance with the agreement the United Nations mission presented at Joint Military Committee talks last February.

The statement also said the two sides had agreed to sit at the dialogue table again as soon as possible on calls to restore the Libyan people to a safe life.

The statement ended with the wish of all national and international parties involved in the Libyan issue to respond to the Libyan people's calls for an end to the war and prepare the ground for a final ceasefire.
