Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Carola Rackete, who drew attention along with the immigrants she rescued in the Mediterranean, German ship captain said her case should not overshadow the immigrant problem.
The German captain, in her interview with the non-governmental organization Sea Watch, thanked for the interest and recalled that the situation of the refugees in the Mediterranean continued in the same way as before.
"Every day there are boats leaving the coast of Libya? There are refugees fleeing the ongoing civil wars," Rackete said, "They are being kidnapped, tortured and sold as slaves," she added.
Despite the obstacles prevented by Italian coast guard, Sea-Watch 3, 31-year-old Carola Rackete, who docked in the port of Lampedusa Island in Italy and saved the lives of immigrants.
