Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Bulgaria's Citizens for European Development Party (GERB), the party of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, is narrowly ahead, according to early general election polls in Bulgaria.
Borisov's GERB party won 22.5% of the vote, while Slavi Trifonov's "Such a People Exists" (ITN) party came in second with 21.1% of the vote.
Voting has ended in the snap election to elect new members of the 240-seat parliament.
Six political parties and coalitions have passed the 4% electoral threshold, according to a poll by the "Gallup International" research company shared by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), which ran pro-Russian politics along the lines of the former communist party that ruled Bulgaria for 45 years until 1989, won 15.1% of the vote, becoming the third party in the rankings.
Unofficial results are expected on July 12.
The Central Election Commission (GCC) will announce the final election results by July 18th.
