Serhat TUNAR -TDO- British tourists holidaying at a ski resort in Switzerland have been forced to flee their hotel at nightfall, breaking a mandatory quarantine.
After the new type of coronavirus was seen in the UK, Switzerland introduced a 10-day mandatory quarantine rule for those who came from that country. Some of the tourists who spent their holidays in Switzerland escaped quarantine despite all the warnings.
About 200 of the 420 British tourists in the city of Verbier who were supposed to be in quarantine have fled the hotel where they were found, according to Swiss media reports. The escaped tourists were spotted fleeing by hotel staff who saw that the breakfast trays were untouched.
Verbier, where 20 per cent of tourists are British, is also known as 'Little London'.
