Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has made the most sweeping cabinet reshuffle since his inauguration in January 2019.
Bolsonaro, whose popularity has recently "waned" across Brazil, announced six changes to his cabinet, including the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ernesto Araujo, widely criticized for taking an anti-globalization stance, was accused of "exacerbating the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic by alienating vaccine suppliers".
Bolsonaro announced on Twitter that the new Defense, Foreign, and Justice Minister and Brazil's Attorney General, Government Secretary, and Cabinet Chief at the Ministry level.
Bolsonaro announced the appointment of Carlos Alberto Franco as Foreign Minister, Walter Souza Braga Netto as Defense Minister, Anderson Gustavo Torres as Justice Minister, Luiz Eduardo Ramos as Cabinet Chief, Andre Luiz de Almeida Mendonça as Attorney General of Brazil, and Flavia Arruda as Government Secretary.
