Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The United States and NATO armed forces stationed in Afghanistan have officially started to withdraw from May 1st.

Us troops, estimated to number between 2,500 and 3,000, and about 7,000 NATO military personnel, who are still in the country, will gradually leave the country from May 1st.

U.S. President Joe Biden said on April 15 that the withdrawal process would begin on May 1 and that all his military forces would be out of the country before 9/11, the anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan.

So far, only 60 U.S. troops have left the country, Biden said.
