BIDEN AND TRUDEAU PLEDGE TO 'BOOST COOPERATION'

Selin ATAY-TDO- US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed with the novel type of coronavirus (Covid-19) to jointly fight climate change and increase cooperation in bilateral relations.

After taking office, U.S. President Biden held his first bilateral meeting with world leaders online with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. Biden and Trudeau expressed their shared eagerness to further deepen relations on many topics during the talks, which were attended by the cabinets of the two countries via video conference. At an online joint press conference after the meeting, Biden and Trudeau discussed U.S.-Canadian relations.

The US President noted that Covid-19 is currently the most important issue on their agenda, and thanks to cooperation with Canada, especially on the supply of the Covid-19 vaccine. In his speech, the US President stressed that combating climate change is extremely important for both the US and Canada, and noted that they are working closely with Canada on this issue. "The United States has no closer and more important friend than Canada," Joe Biden said, adding that they are doing everything they can to save the two Canadians held by China.

After Biden, Trudeau said that relations with the United States are unshakably strong and that they will increase their close cooperation with the Biden administration. "We are united in defeating this pandemic and building a stronger future," Trudeau said. The Canadian Prime Minister also indicated he would be happy to work with Biden and thanked the US President.
