Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Pascal Soriot, chief executive of AstraZeneca, the University of Oxford's pharmaceutical firm, explained that the vaccine they produce could also protect against the mutating state of coronavirus. Soriot testified that the researchers found a formula that makes the vaccine as effective as competing candidates.
Asked about the impact of the vaccine against a new type of coronavirus that has recently spread in the UK, Soriot said: "so far we think the vaccine should remain effective. But we can't be sure, so we'll test it."
The coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca is expected to be approved by the authority in the UK next week.
