Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Sally Buzbee, the senior editor of the Associated Press (AP), called for an investigation into an Israeli airstrike in Gaza targeting the building, which also includes the AP office.
Buzbee said an independent investigation should be launched into the shooting down of a building called Cela in Gaza, which has the offices of the AP and Al Jazeera, by Israeli warplanes.
"We believe it is appropriate at this point to conduct an independent investigation into what happened yesterday. The Israeli military, which gave AP employees and other tenants about an hour to evacuate, claimed Hamas used the building as a military intelligence officer and to develop weapons. Israeli Military Spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said Israel had compiled evidence for the United States but refused to give it within the next two days," she said in a statement.
Buzbee said the Israeli government, which attacked the 60-apartment building, including the offices of several local and international media outlets, had not provided clear evidence supporting the attack.
