Serhat TUNAR -TDO- German Chancellor Angela Merkel has made statements about rising tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean. Merkel said it was among her duties to support Greece's rights and what she said.
"As Member States of the European Union, we all have a duty to take seriously the rights and words of our Greek friends and to support them where they are right," Merkel said in a statement. But I made an effort not to increase the tension. This is sometimes only possible with both sides talking over and over again. Discussions on the sharing of economic zones can only be carried out together. Germany is striving for this.”
Angela Merkel, who also said that French President Emmanuel Macron and Turkey often assess relations, continued: "these relations are multifaceted. Turkey is a NATO ally. The conflict is between two NATO members. It can't leave us indifferent. Even so, it is necessary to clarify these things within the alliance."
