Serhat TUNAR -TDO- German Chancellor Angela Merkel says the German economy is ready for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union without an agreement.
In a statement to the press after the EU leaders meeting in Brussels, the German Chancellor reminded that Brexit will be postponed to 22 May if approved by the British parliament next week; otherwise, it will be postponed to April 12. Merkel said they, as the European Union, expect the decision of the British Parliament.
Angela Merkel stated that the United Kingdom should make a decision soon, and said the prolongation of the Brexit process could hinder the election of the European Parliament (AP) to be held on 26 May.
Angela Merkel also added that the German economy is fully prepared for Brexit.
